A heat-resistant insulating sheet material for electrical use has a firm layer contg. 10-99 wt % mica and 1 wt % poly(2,6-diphenyl-p-phenyly-p-phenylene oxide) as binder, and has good mechanical and electrical properties. Impregnation with a thermoplastic material may be unnecessary.
