<p>A scissor cutter for cutting textiles (e.g. fibrous laps) has a movable cutter blade co-operating with a fixed cutter blade and the cutting edge of one or both of the blades is provided with teeth which may be triangular, semi-circular or trapezoidal in shape. Pref. parallel grooves are provided extending from, and transversely of, the cutting edge. Wear on the blades is reduced. Cutting power requirements are also reduced thereby reducing the energy imparted to the fibres and preventing the possibility of fusion of the fibres.</p> |
