The electromagnetic generator of novel construction has two axially parallel shafts (12, 22) displaced laterally and with their ends facing one another. These facing ends each have discs (13, 23) attached to them. One disc has excitation coils (15) on its face and the other has armature coils (25). These excitation and armature coils are located on the peripheries of the discs, which have different diameters such that they coincide at one side but not at the other. The two shafts have separate bearings. The excitation coils have pole shoes (14) and the armature have coils cores (24).
