In a particular embodiment, as shown, the motion of the inner rotor 1 is transmitted through a two stage reduction gear consisting of a sun pinion 4 secured to the inner rotor, and meshed with satellite gears 5 carried by a rotatable support member 15 which is secured to a second sun pinion 16 meshed with further satellite gears 17 carried by a rotatable member 18 secured to the outer rotor 2. An internally toothed rim 13 secured to a load supporting fork 8 forms the reaction member in both stages of the reduction gearing. Commutators 23 are located on the rotatable member 18, the brushes 24 for the electric current supply being secured to the supporting fork 8. A brake 22 has a disc 25 secured to the supporting fork 8. |
