<p>1330428 HVDC power transmissions systems ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 19 April 1971 [27 Feb 1970] 22675/71 Heading H2F A HVDC link between two HVAC networks or two parts of the same network for power balancing and suppression of oscillations is connected at each end into a or network via an intermediate tapped reactor in such a way that the effect of any D.C. power flow on those parts of a or the network electrically nearest the ends of the link are not upset by other parts of the same or the network. In Fig. 4 a converter 9 of a D.C. link is connected into an HVAC network, represented by machine sets 6 and 7 and their reactances X4 and X5, via a centre tapped reactance X6 represented in Fig. 4 by an equivalent circuit where nX4 = X6. The negative branch -n/4X4 by choosing n between 2 and 6 wholly or partially cancels reactance X4 so connecting set 6 more directly to the converter than machine set 7. A similar connection of centre-topped reactances is disclosed (Fig. 6, not shown) for a D.C. link in parallel with an A.C. link connecting two parts of the same A.C. network.</p> |
