<p>1342665 Knitting-machines JONATHAN LOGAN Inc 15 July 1971 [17 July 1970] 33355/71 Heading D1C A device for evening the tension at which yarns are supplied to a knitting machine from uneven packages comprises a disc-type tensioner 26 and an overdriven roller 34 around which the yarns are wrapped a plurality of tines. The yarns are subjected to a similar second stage treatment by tensioner 38 and roller 36. A roller 28 oils the yarn prior to treatment, while a second roller 40 oils the yarn for knitting. The apparatus is mounted on a free-standing creel, from which the yarn is withdrawn by a tape and cylinder drive on the machine. If the machine drive is stopped due to a fault the threads are disengaged from the rollers by rods 54, 56.</p> |
