The blind comprises a supple canvas (2) which is wound around a transverse support roller (3). The lateral edges of the blind are held by a sectioned element (5) extending along all its length when it is deployed. The section comprises a chamber (8) open on the side which allows passage of the blind. The two edges of the blind are in the form of a continuous sheath (9) which surrounds a rigid guide rod (10). The free end (11) of the blind has a width equal to the space between the two side retaining sections so as to be located outside them. The side retaining elements ensure that the tension exerted on the canvas is reduced to a minimum during winding and unwinding.
