1435957 Sliver guide SOUTH AFRICAN INVENTIONS DEVELOPMENT CORP 23 Oct 1973 [27 Oct 1972] 49176/73 Heading D1N A sliver guide comprises a basic unit 4 and at least one secondary unit- 5 linked in tandem relationship to the basic unit 4, a collector roller assembly 6 located adjacent the downstream edge of the basic unit 4 for feeding slivers to a processing machine, feed roller assemblies 7 axially spaced apart on the upstream edge of the basic unit 4 and feed roller assemblies 7 axially spacedapart on the secondary unit 5 and means coupling the collector roller 6 and the feed rollers 7 to the processing machine. A central passage may be provided beneath or through the units 4, 5 to permit coupling of the rollers 6, 7 through chain or belt drives. Each roller assembly may comprise upper and lower rollers, the upper roller being biassed towards the lower roller, contact between the upper and lower rollers being adapted to close a signal -circuit. Closure of the circuit may stop the machine. Guide rings 18 ensure that slivers are maintained centrally of the feed rollers 7. |
