PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that in an external heating system fixing device, when the fixing processing of a plurality of small-size recording materials is continuously performed, the temperature rise of a non-paper passing part is caused.SOLUTION: The fixing device includes a roller, a heating unit which includes a first film and a heater which includes a substrate and a heating resistor formed on the substrate and comes into contact with the inner surface of the first film, to form a press-contact part together with the roller through the first film, and a pressure unit which includes a second film and a nip part forming member which comes into contact with the inner surface of the second film, to form a nip part together with the roller through the second film, and heats a recording material on which a toner image is formed while conveying it in the nip part, to fix the toner image to the recording material. The nip part forming member has thermal conductivity higher than that of the second film, and the end of a thermal conduction member is in the same position as the end of the heating resistor or outside the end of the heating resistor in the generatrix direction of the roller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
