PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens which has a wide view angle and high zoom ratio and yet is well corrected for aberrations and which offers reduced camera shake blur and enhanced precision in image blur correction, and to provide an image capturing device having the same.SOLUTION: A zoom lens comprises, in order from the object side, a first lens group having positive refractive power, a second lens group having negative refractive power, a third lens group having positive refractive power, and a predefined lens group that is stationary while zooming, and is configured such that a distance between the first lens group and second lens group is greater at the telephoto end than at the wide-angle end, and a distance between the second lens group and third lens group is smaller at the telephoto end than at the wide-angle end. The predefined lens group has a first lens component configured to move in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis, and a second lens component located on the image side of the first lens component with an air gap in between, where the second lens component has refractive power of a sign opposite that of refractive power of the first lens component.
