Each lug 15 is provided with a hook 18, 20 adapted, by rotation of the lid, to engage a lug 12, and a screwed handle 22 is provided by means of which the cover and vessel are drawn into close engagement. Springs 24 break contact between the vessel and cover when the handles 22 are unscrewed, and spring washers 23 engage a reduced part of the shank 18 to prevent dropping of the hooks below the plane of lugs 12. Rotation of the hooks is prevented by the form of the pockets 17.</p> |
