<p>1358625 Friction clutches; clutch-brake combinations; full-face disc brakes ZF GETRIEBE GmbH 11 May 1972 [25 May 1971] 22074/72 Headings F2C F2L and F2E Two clutches, 5 and 6, and a brake 7, all hydraulically actuated, are arranged as shown as part of automatic change speed gearing, coaxially with the clutches 5, 6 within the brake 7, an annular piston 44 serving to actuate brake 7 and pistons 9 and 32 actuating clutches 5 and 6 respectively, these latter pistons having substantially equal areas to be loaded by pressure medium. A driving disc carrier 20, connected via cylinder 15 to the driving shaft 4, carries internally discs 23 of clutch 5, actuation of piston 9 compressing these to drive discs 22 on a carrier 25 secured to a member 21 having a shaft 26 extending to a member in a planetary gearbox 8 (not further described). The carrier 20 also has, externally, discs 41 which interleave with discs 42, this forming clutch 6 which drivingly connects the carrier 20 to a cylinder 33 and so to a shaft 34 extending into the bear-box 8, on actuation of piston 32. The brake 7 is similar to the clutches described, discs 51 being on the casing 2 and discs 50 on carrier 39 which carries internally the discs 42, so that the cylinder 33 is braked on actuation of piston 44. The clutches 5 and 6 and brake 7 are disengaged by springs 19, 37 and 48 respectively. Fluid to actuate clutch 6 is supplied from a conduit 36 through passages in the shaft 4, fluid to actuate clutch 5 being supplied through passage 16. The passage in the shaft 4 is divided by a member 60 so that it can also be used for lubricating oil for the clutches, supplied thereto through passage 63.</p> |
