PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which can prevent a lubricant of a slide sheet from partially drying up and suppress occurrence of a conveyance failure and reduction in a service life of a fixing belt.SOLUTION: A fixing device comprises: a pressure member 3 which is rotatable; an endless belt-like fixing member 1 which rotates by being in contact with the pressure member 3; a heat source which heats the fixing member 1; a nip formation member 6 which is provided on the inner peripheral side of the fixing member 1 and forms a nip portion with the pressure member 3 via the fixing member 1; and a sliding member 13 which is arranged between the nip formation member 6 and the fixing member 1 and impregnates the lubricant, and fixes an unfixed image of a recording medium by heating the recording medium conveyed to the nip portion. The impregnation amount of the lubricant applied to the sliding member 13 is gradually varied along the longitudinal direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
