PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time for converting the color compression image data into the gray scale compression image data.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus for converting the color compression image data, produced by compressing the color image data by a predetermined system, into the gray scale compression image data includes a color plate selection unit for selecting any one color plate from the color compression image data, based on the density information of each color plate included in the color compression image data, and a conversion unit for generating the gray scale compression image data based on the compression image data of the selected color plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
