<p>1377539 Filter CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 11 Sept 1972 [13 Sept 1971] 42035/72 Heading B1D In a filter assembly as shown in Fig. 1 which comprises a tubular housing 14, a conically shaped base 16, a cartridge type filter element 18 and an outlet part 20 formed through the base, a perforated liquid diffusing means 22 having a plurality of apertures 48 encloses said base and disperses liquid discharged from the outlet in said base in a wide flow pattern to prevent aeration of the liquid in a hydraulic reservoir or tank 12. The cartridge filter is seated on an annular flat in conical base 16. The whole assembly is preferably axially aligned. The diffusing means is fixed by weld 46 or by bolts and flanges to housing 14. A tie bolt 30 holds the assembly together. A spring- loaded relief valve 38 is incorporated.</p> |
