The attachment which is mounted in the position of a travelling steady of the centre lathe slide is a thick plate of steel with a central bore. This bore is concentric with the centre line between the headstock and tailstock. The plate carries a central sleeve for supporting bar material. A number of radial slides are also mounted on the plate. The tools in these slides cut the projecting bar material and produce components normally produced on automatic lathes.
