<p>1372777 Reciprocating compressors M BARTHALON 30 Aug 1972 [31 Aug 1971] 40212/72 Addition to 1152209 Heading F1N [Also in Division H2] In an electric motor driven gas compressor in which the armature 5 of a variable stroke reciprocating motor in accordance with Specification 1152209 is attached to a piston 6 movable within a cylinder 7, the delivery port 11 of the cylinder is located in the side wall, spaced from the cylinder head 10, so that on large piston strokes, when the piston moves beyond the delivery port, a residual cushion of compressed gas will be trapped above the piston. There may be two symmetrically-disposed, delivery ports Fig.3 (not shown). Inlet ports 9 are located in the cylinder head 10. The armature 5 slides on a guide rod 21 and is urged away from the magnetic circuit air gap 20 by a spring 8 inside the piston.</p> |
