<p>A method of accurately cutting a groove in a cardboard blank in order to make a fold, for packages or book covers, where sharp covers and accurately controlled depths are necessary, uses a pair of side by side slitting blades (6) to make a pair of sharp cuts of the exact width and depth of the required groove, followed by a blade (7) which removes the material from between the cuts. This is carried out in one operation, the cardboard passing over a reaction wheel (5). The rollers are carried by an arm (11) which can be accurately height adjusted by a screw (14) at the top. The blade is carried on another arm (15) also with an adjusting screw (17).</p> |
