1351687 Photographic process INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 26 July 1971 [10 Aug 1970] 34932/71 Headings G2C and G2X Two different images are recorded in a silver halide photographic emulsion by, successively, prehardening the emulsion, further sensitizing the prehardened emulsion by immersing it in a solution of ammonium or potassium dichromate; exposing the sensitized emulsion to record a latent refractive index image and a latent silver image; treating the exposed emulsion (e.g. with an etch-bleach solution) to eliminate the latent silver image, optionally resensitizing by treating with developer solution; exposing the treated emulsion to record a further latent silver image; developing and fixing said further latent silver image and rapidly dehydrating the fixed emulsion to develop the latent refractive index image. The product may be a spatial filter.
