The headlamp adjuster screw is threaded through a captive nut in an elastic fitting linked to the headlamp and is braced on a body section. The head of the screw is held in a first cam which is fitted with a hand lever and which rides over a second cam fitted on the screw between the first cam and the body section. The touching faces of the cams are inclined and one cam has a ridge which locates in one of two grooves in the other cam. The screw is spring loaded to prevent the system rattling. The two settings of the hand lever provide two axial settings of the screw and enable the driver to tilt the headlamps to cope with empty-and loaded vehicle. An alternate arrangement has profiled surfaces between the cams, splayed apart by an asymmetric shaft linked to the hand lever.
|
