<p>1331600 Heat shrunk apparatus O E GUSTAVSSON 8 Sep 1972 [9 Sept 1971] 41883/72 Heading B8C A pile 5 of goods carried on a pallet 4 and sheathed in a heat shrinkable wrapping 6 is carried by a conveyer 2 past directional radiantheat emitters 11 pivoted to a stationary frame so as to be directed initially at the front of the wrapping 6, then at the sides thereof, and finally at the back of the wrapping 6. Alternatively, the conveyer 2 is omitted and the frame 1 is movable. The emitters 11 are pivoted on pins 12 carried by arms 7 pivoted at 8 to the frame 1, the arms being biased against abutments 10 by springs 9, and the emitters 11 being spring biased to the position shown. In operation, the pallet 4 engages wheels 13, rotatably mounted on the pins 12, so as to pivot the arms 7 apart. The pallet then engages actuating arms 14 carried by the emitters 11 so as to rotate same to be directed at the sides of the pallets. When the pallet passes clear of the wheels 13, the arms 7 pivot inwardly whilst the actuating arms still engage the pallet, so as to pivot the emitters to be directed toward the rear of the pallet. In this position, projections 18 on the emitters 11 engage pawls 17 on arms 16 carried by the arms 7. When the pallet is clear of the frame 1 a sensor releases the pawls 17 and the emitters return to their initial positions.</p> |
