<p>The false ceiling is intended for use in large public buildings, economically masking the inner roof space and contained conduits and comprises light gauge hoop elements (1) disposed virtually abutting in a horizontal plane with ring centres conforming to a right angular grid. The hoops are suspended by upper horizontal flanges (2) ledging on inverted T bars (3) which are in turn suspended from the roof above by vertical rods (4). The hoops or shallow cylindrical elements (1) are formed from light gauge sheet metal. Internally threaded sleeve couplings (5) connect rod hangers (4) to facilitate hanger length adjustment, and are slightly larger in diameter than the distance between beam flanges so that the hoops must be elastically deformed for mounting.</p> |
