1444213 Absorbent compositions for gas vessels COYNE CYLINDER CO 11 Feb 1975 [26 April 1974] 5790/75 Heading F4P An acetylene container filler composition comprises lime, perlite, fibrous asbestos, and water, substantially all of the perlite being of a particle size to pass through a 16 mesh screen. A majority of the perlite preferably passes through a 100 mesh screen and even more desirably through a 325 mesh screen. The composition also preferably includes silica flour and/ or diatomaceous earth. A preferred example gives a composition as follows: lime 6À3%; perlite 2À4%; diatomaceous earth 7À1%; silica flour 2À4%; fibrous asbestos 4À7%; water 77À1%. The method of forming the composition is also described. |
