Preferably the picture is made by exposing a photo-conductive member, which may be the card or a member which transfers a latent charge image to the card, through a halftone grid or screen. Alternatively a photo-sensitive screen may be imaged, and used to control a flow of corona ions which images the card. Then data are added and a synthetic resinous film is laminated to the card, or a lacquer is applied. The card may comprise a paper or resinous support, an aluminium layer and a surface layer of a dielectric such as an acrylic resin, a methacrylic resin, polyvinyl chloride or a photo-conductive material such as zinc oxide or poly-N-vinyl carbazole carried by a bonding agent. Electrically conductive rubber or sheet metal may replace the support and aluminium layer. |
