The support (1) is made of extruded plastic and consists of a longitudinal rod (2) with a longitudinal tenon joined to it and fitting in the mortise (8) of the drum. The tenon is of circular section and is joined to the rod (2) by a longitudinal throat (7). One face (4) of the rod is thus disposed tangentially with regard to the periphery (11) of the drum (9). The other face (14) of the rod has the tufts of bristles fixed to it. The tufts are fixed in holes (18) in the support by means of a loop of wire which passes through a bore (19) through the tenon.
