The door catch can be fixed onto the door without the need to interfere with the construction of the door. A holding arm is maintained in a position behind a catch mounting casing (2) by two bosses (1). In order to fix the door handle, the arm (1) is located and the handle (6) is opened so that a shoulder (5) on the handle forces a pivotal spring clip (3) into its position against the bodywork (7). To release the assembly a tool is inserted between the handle and the casing to release the clip. The fixing is not visible and simplifies component assembly.
