The display case comprises a frame (1) containing two endless conveyor or chains (3) which move in parallel over sprocket wheels (2) so that their belts run substantially perpendicularly. several separate shelves (4) are suspended in articulate manner from the conveyor chains (3) and are fitted with runners (6) which move in guides (5) provided on the frame (1). The length of the endless conveyor (3) is determined by the height of the individual shelf compartments (4) and the spacing between the display cases. The guides (5) for the runners (6) extend only over the vertical area of the conveyor chains and at the top and bottom over the reversal point for same.
