Rotation control device for sync motor permanent magnet rotor - prevents permanent rotor rotation in wrong direction by field plate arrangement

A pinion (50) is mounted to rotate about the rotor (16). The rotor carries a stop (68), and a wedge arrangement (70) is used for releasable connection of the pinion to the rotor. In this connection the pinion has a preset rotary freedom in relation to the rotor. The pinion meshes with a drive gear (54) which carries an engagement element (72) for resting against the stop if the rotor rotates in wrong direction. The drive gear has a channel (82), spaced from the engagement element, through which the stop can move without hindrance when the rotor rotates in correct direction. Preferably the stop is in the form of a pin (74), protruding from the rotor surface. The engagement element may be formed by a lug protruding from the drive gear surface.
