The funnel for filling large containers, designed to ensure escape of dangerous fumes from the liquid being poured in, with a conical portion (4) protected by a semi-circular cover (3) attached to a hollow stem (11) underneath, which carries an internally threaded locking collar (8) for fastening to a threaded boss (9) on the container, has a draw-off tube (1) through the cover (3), and into which projects the upper end of a discharge tube (5) whose lower end terminates inside the container immediately below the top surface of the container, through a hole (10) in the discharge tube, at that level. A flexible, e.g. rubber sealing ring (12) is located between the locking collar and container boss.
