Fuel from inlet 6 passes through passageway 20 and passages 34 into swirl chamber 24 and swirls around ball valve 12 when the latter is closed thereafter passing through passageway 22 to outlet 10. The nozzle is vibrated ultrasonically to commence injection. The fuel injection system may include a control device which times the vibration period and may limit it to part of the suction stroke for each engine cylinder. |
