<p>1394278 Mechanical switches TRW Inc 18 May 1972 [18 May 1971] 23377/72 Heading H1N A switch has a two part housing 20, 22 comprising an actuator housing and a contact housing respectively. A cam 62 is mounted on the shaft of the actuator 12, the shaft extending so that it passes through the double walls 32, 34, such that the cam is located in the contact housing. A spring-contact carrier 14 having a terminal 40 extending through the slot 42 in housing 22 is engaged by the cam 62 at a bight 70 when the switch is actuated to separate the movable contact 72 from the fixed contact 18 the latter being inserted through the side of the housing 22. Walls 50, 52 and part 56 locate and protect from water &c. the contacts and a mandrel 58 extending from the side wall locates the fixed end of the movable, resilient contactcarrier 14. The two housings are ultrasonically welded together, a flange 60 on the housing 20 closing the slot formed by the walls 32, 34. The actuator lever 12 has a spring bias 16, engaging the actuator and the slot 28. A stop surface 26 is formed in the actuator housing 20.</p> |
