<p>The vehicle may be propelled along calm inland waters. It is fitted with wheels, each of which has an inner rim and an outer rim. The space between the two rims is divided radially into compartments. When the wheel is floating in the vertical position a certain amount of air is trapped in the compartments that are submerged. When the wheel begins to turn, the additional air under the wheel causes the centre to lift and the resistance to propulsion is reduced. The vehicle is permanently out of the water. The drive to the wheels is effected by any conventional method.</p> |
