<p>A flat radiator panel, its method of mfr. and a multi panel, high capacity heat exchanger are claimed, the panel being of the type comprising two rectangular metal plates with corresponding inter-plate ribs joined to form a series of transverse flow channels extending between two longitudinal passages along opposite edges of the panel. Each plate is made in extremely thin light alloy with a plate thickness 0.5 mm pref. about 0.3 mm, the overall thickness of a panel being 5 mm. ref. about 3 mm and the area of one panel face being about one square metre while the length of the panel is >1 m. The panels can be mass-produced at high speed by feeding two coils of light alloy sheet through corrugating rollers, joining the sheets by their ribs and shearing off panel lengths of the composite.</p> |
