<p>A shotgun cartridge has the pellets housed inside a fire flexible plastics sleeve which is afterwards sealed by thermo welding so as to hold the pellets in a tight, thin, cylindrical formation. The plastics material ensures a good, accurate flight with reduced air resistance, and ensuring that on impact, the bursting of the plastics give a close scatter of shot near the target, especially where the plastics sleeve is closed under vacuum. The thickness of the material can be selected to determined the scatter time. The use of plastics material reduces the cost of the cartridge.</p> |
