<p>The water channel barrier spans the water channel and comprises an outer envelope (11) containing one or more inner envelopes (12). The edges of the envelopes are secured to the water channel floor by clamps (40) bolted into recesses in the floor, the edges being folded about reinforcing rods. The upstream ends of the envelopes are secured close together while the downstream ends are spaced quite far apart, so that when the envelopes are separately inflated by air (61) or water (60) the upstream ends of the envelopes are in contact, with the inner envelope supporting the outer envelope against the head of water (9) in the water channel.</p> |
