1338492 Texturising yarns; false-twist ring RHONE POULENC TEXTILE 21 Oct 1971 [22 Oct 1970] 49007/71 Headings DID and D1F A running yarn of thermoplastic material is continuously texturised by unwinding a yarn axially from a wound cap so as to generate a twist therein, feeding the yarn in contact with a twist barrier element, e.g. a fixed ring, situated upstream of a wind-up mechanism and heat-setting the twist between the element and the station whereat untwisting is effected. The generated twist exceeds twist imparted by the wind-up mechanism. As shown, yarn 1 is unwound from a cap 2 by a delivery device 3, passes over a heating plate 4, through a pigtail guide 9; the unwinding twist accumulates upstream of a barrier ring 5 which is mounted on the ring rail upstream of the ring 6 of the wind-up mechanism having a traveller 7 through which yarn passes before collection as a cap 8. The accumulated twist runs over and is set by the plate 4. The ring 5 may have sharp edges or a smoothly curved surface engaged by the running yarn. |
