<p>Cotton wad stick packing machine with horizontal infeed employs two support bars (17) at the packing point which lie side by side and horizontal to take the series of sticks for packing. These bars are mirror reflections of one another either side of an intervening plane of symmetry (39) and can swing down and outwards round their outside long edges (38) to lower the sticks into a pack below. Each bar should be hinged to horizontal stringer (4) fixed horizontally to the machine frame so that the bar to begin with forms a shoulder with the inside of the associated stringer and then, when the bar is swung out, it forms a descending continuation of the stringer to release the sticks down into the pack. The bars should swing out from initial position against springs (18).</p> |
