<p>Process for mfg. ceramic articles with coloured metal oxide decoration obtd. by using metal salt solns. At least in one surface zone underneath the area of an unbaked, plastic-moist or dry article which is to be decorated, besides at least one inorg. or org. metal salt soln., a stabilising soln. is applied consisting of >=1 inorg. or org. pptg. or flocculating agent for the metal salt, the stabilising soln. being allowed to dry. The article is only baked after applying the colour(s) and the stabilising soln. may be applied to all or part of the surface of the ceramic article, the pref. soln. contg. caustic soda, water-glass, or hydroxy-quinoline. There is no need to pre-bake the article before applying the metal salt solns. and the different colours do not run into each other, i.e. sharp patterns are obtd.</p> |
