The tube may be first impregnated with an amine. After the immunological counterpart has been coupled, the material to be assayed e.g. thyroxine vitamin B 12 or folic acid is incubated in the tube together with a radio-actively labelled derivative and the product counted with a detection device and compared with a standard.
