Provided are a method and apparatus for configuring carrier aggregation based on multi-band capability, the method comprising: determining band basis of serving cell access of user equipment so that the user equipment can access the serving cell on the basis of the band basis, the serving cell is configured with at least two bands, and overlap exists between the at least two bands; obtaining different frequency neighbor cell configuration information of the band basis of the serving cell accessed by the user equipment at a preset physical frequency point and carrier aggregation combination supported by the user equipment; on the basis of the different frequency neighbor cell configuration information of the band basis at preset physical frequency point and the carrier aggregation combination supported by the user equipment, determining a target band of a secondary carrier required to be configured by the user equipment; on the basis of the carrier aggregation capability of the user equipment at the target band, transmitting corresponding re-configuration information to the user equipment, and using the different frequency neighbor cell of the target band at the preset physical frequency point as a secondary serving cell. With the disclosed solution, frequency spectrum resources are utilized sufficiently and efficiently, and throughput of user data traffic is enhanced. |
