1490558 Phenethylamine derivatives SANDOZ Ltd 16 Dec 1974 [19 Dec 1973 23 Oct 1974 (2)] 54157/74 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R 1,2 =H, C 1-5 alkyl) and their salts are prepared by (a) subjecting a corresponding bisdiether to acidolysis or hydrogenolysis or (b) reducing the corresponding bis-amide in which the (CH 2 ) 6 groups are replaced by (CH 2 ) 5 CO, optionally followed by salt formation. The preparation of starting materials for processes (a) and (b) and 2,4,5-trichlorophenyl hydrogen adipate, N 2 ,N<SP>1</SP> 2 -bis-(3,4-dimethoxyphenethyl) - N 1 ,N<SP>1</SP> 1 - hexamethylene bis - (adipic azid diamide) and hexamethylene - N,N<SP>1</SP> - 1 - bromocaproic acid diamide is described. The above compounds are antihypotensives, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier. |
