The base element (1) comprises sides, of wood or chipboard, having a foot (2) fixed into each inside corner. A seat is formed by a similar element (31) having an upholstered top and sides (6, 7) fitting over the base and resting on supports (4). Arm (10) and back (11) rests are separate units, upholstered as desired and fixed to the base and seat assembly through side slots (5). The fastener is a strip (9, 101) with clamping bars (91, 92) these being in line when passed through the slots and turned 90 deg. and tightened for locking. The table is a flat sheet (8) fitting into the recess in an element over a base.
