<p>The portable grinding machine for rectifying automobile gear box packing pieces has a rapid action manual grinder advance mechanism and a precisely orientatable magnetic workpiece support. The rapid grinder advance mechanism comprises a sleeve from which the grinder support arm cantilevers and which slidably reciprocates vertically on a base plate mounted column via a hand wheel actuated screw-jack mechanism. The support arm sleeve also pivots relative to the column via a lever to sweep the workpiece, the lever also locking the sleeve to column. The workpiece support assembly can be adjusted via slides for horizontal and vertical station, and the workpiece support which is mounted on a thrust bearing can be rotationally adjusted.</p> |
