The tensionable elastic sieve base is manufactured from rubber or elastic synthetic plastic and has a reinforcement which extends into the tension direction and by which the free rods of the sieve floor are also embedded into the tensioning members. The tensioning members are attached in the tensioning direction in parallel rows with a small separation. The members take up an arched or bent position in the sieve floor in relation to the sieve surface. The tensioning members are attached to a tensioning piece mounted on the sieve side walls.
