The calcium formate may be mixed with other desulphurizers or slag-consistency controlling additives and briquetted, or may be blown into the melt through a lance using a carrier gas e.g. air, nitrogen argon, a hydrocarbon, or mixtures thereof. The calcium formate may be the by-product of the synthesis of pentaerythritol. |
