1459298 Automatic circuit breakers OTTERMILL Ltd 27 Feb 1974 8825/74 Heading H1N An alternating current circuit-breaker trip latch is held by a member 17 and released when excess current causes movement of the member 17 due to heating of a current carrying bimetal 22 or attraction of an armature 28 by a coil 20 in series with and carried on the bimetal 22. A member 24, 25 on the core 20 extends to act on the member 17 after a predetermined bimetal movement. The breaker is used on an A.C. system and overload the armature 28, which is movable in a slot 32 in the member 17 exerts a series of vibrating impacts on the end 32 of the slot 32 to effect unlatching. |
