The treatment may involve 33% HCl in two separate stages of 3-5 days each at ambient temperature. The membrane may be tubular, sealed at its base by epoxy resin and embodied in a concentric arrangement with an outer graphite cylinder anode and a central rod stainless steel cathode. The cell is useful in rejuvenating spent ferricyanide photographic bleach baths.
