1376843 Medicament injectors I M S Ltd 26 Jan 1972 [5 Oct 1971] 3613/72 Heading A5R A medicament injector comprises a fluid passage member 40 having a central bore 42 and extending lengthwise within a thrust portion 14 provided within a barrel 10 from which extends a urethral tip 59 communicating with the central bore 42. Means 50 is associated with the end of member 40 for puncturing a diaphragm sealing a central opening 32 in a rubber stopper 20 reciprocable within a vial 18 containing the medicament. The means 50 may be provided by a point on a tip 48 carried by member 40 and having openings 56 comunicating with the bore 42. A flange 58 on tip 48 maintains member 42 substantially concentric with respect to the thrust portion 14. The stopper 20 has a part 24 of reduced diameter adapted to be threaded into thrust portion 14. In a modification, the tip 48 is omitted, the puncturing means being provided by the end of member 40 which is bevelled and the flange 58 being integral with member 40. |
