<p>1435548 Stabilization of 1,1,1-trichloroethane DOW CHEMICAL CO 15 Aug 1973 [16 Aug 1972 (2)] 38643/73 Heading C5D [Also in Division C2] 1,1,1-Trichloroethane is stabilized against metal-induced degradation by the addition of (A) 0À25 to 0À8% wt. of a C 1 -C 3 nitroalkane or mixture of nitroalkanes, (B) 0À25 to 1% wt. of a C 3 -C 8 monoepoxide, monochloro C 3 -C 8 monoepoxide or mixture thereof, (C) 3À5 to 4À5% wt. of a mixture of dioxane with one of the twocomponent mixtures (1) 1,1-dimethoxyethane and either methyl ethyl ketone, nitromethane, t-butyl alcohol, dioxene, dioxolane, or trioxane, (2) methyl ethyl ketone and either nitromethane, t-butyl alcohol, dioxene, dioxolane or trioxane, (3) diethoxymethane and either t-butyl alcohol or nitromethane, (4) nitromethane and either t-butyl alcohol, dioxene, dioxolane or trioxane, (5) t-butyl alcohol and either dioxene, dioxolane or trioxane, in the proportions within the shaded areas of Figs. 1-20 (not shown). Both liquid and vapour states of the solvent are stabilized.</p> |
