- 15 Grab rakes are particularly versatile attachments for excavators, for use in forestry environments, and increasingly as a tool for handling heavy objects during civil works. However, they are clumsy tools when handling awkwardly shaped objects such as logs or 5 stumps, or when handling fragile objects such as concrete pipes. The present invention overcomes these problems by providing a grab rake which has multiple thumbs, and which can securely grab a wide range of objects. In addition, the grab of the present invention can be used to handle fragile objects by limiting the grab forces and providing optional softer grips. The configuration of the present invention also allows a wide range 10 of movement of the thumbs without any risk of contacting the excavator dipper arm, or can be used as a rake only with the thumbs retracted and securely supported by stops on the grab body. cJ w |
